Early Years Funding Entitlement (EYFE)

Working families could be eligible for EYFE the term after their child’s 2nd birthday from April 2024 (the term after they turn 9 months from September 2024) To check eligibility for Working families EYFE please use the following website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Some two year olds are entitled to Local Authority(LA) issued 15 hours Early Years Funding if the criteria is met. For children living in Wirral applications need to be made at www.wirral.gov.uk for children living in Cheshire apply at cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk

All three and four year olds are eligible for a Universal Early Years Funding Entitlement (EYFE) place of 15 hours a week for 38 weeks per year (term time only) or the equivalent of 570 hours stretched over the whole year. 

Some three and four year olds of working families who meet the criteria, may also be eligible for an additional 15 hours per week funded place (term time or equivalent stretched). Families can apply online at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Some three and four year olds may also be able to access additional funding to meet their specific needs during their time at the setting.
